Shirley Y Albert

Shirley Yvonne Albert, 78, of Port Huron Township, died Saturday, January 30, 2016.

She was born January 10, 1938 in Capac to the late Henry and Stella Mertz. She married Donald A. Albert on June 4, 1955 in Port Huron. He died November 30, 1990.

Shirley worked for St. Clair Metal and Sportrack before her retirement. She was a member and frequent visitor of Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles, a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #99, and a former member of V.F.W. Charles Schoor Post #796. Shirley enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Don) McPherson; son, David (Connie) Albert; daughter-in-law, Windy Albert; 9 grandchildren, Bobbi Castro (Jeff Middleton), Katie (Mike) Feldhouse, Colleen, Donni, Joshua, Jimmy, Alexis, and Abigail Albert, and Zachery Marzolf; 7 great grandchildren and another on the way; her fiancé, Jerry Foglesong; a brother, Marv Mertz; many dear friends including Vernita Warner, Becky Mosurak, and Janet Hayman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen A. Albert; two brothers, Robert and Fred Mertz; and a sister, Ruth Ann Hagle.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Thomas J. Seppo will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot. Pallbearers will be Shirley’s grandchildren.
