Irene E. Horvath, 87, of Port Huron Township, died Thursday, March 3, 2016.
She was born August 30, 1928 in Detroit to the late Andrew and Anna Kovach. She married Joseph A. Horvath on September 14, 1946 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2014.
Mrs. Horvath was employed as a manager with Kmart until her retirement in 1993. She was also a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharen (Robert) Brenton; son, Lawrence (Susan) Horvath; five grandchildren, Andy (Maggie) Horvath, Becky (Tim) Duerr, Christy (Jon) Heath, Sheila (Dennis) Klaas and Kerri (Don) Wahl; nine great grandchildren, Krystian Horvath, Julianna Horvath, Allison Duerr, Joseph Heath, Caitlyn Heath, Courtney Klaas, Kylie Klaas, Hunter Wahl and Logan Wahl; a brother, James Kovach; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven Kovach and Andrew Kovach.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 in St. John’s United Church of Christ. The Reverend Dr. Richard E. Hotchkin will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township. Her great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ.
