Doris J Hurford

Doris J. Hurford, 92, of Grove City, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2016.

She was born January 13, 1924 in Port Huron to the late Thomas H. and Jemina (Tucker) Phare. She married Hadley Hurford on August 12, 1944 in Port Huron and they were married 71 years. He died December 13, 2015.

Doris was raised in Port Huron and moved to Columbus, Ohio when her husband was transferred for work. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Doris enjoyed sewing.

She is survived by her children, Pamela (David) Mapes, Hadley (Peggy) Hurford Jr. and Robert (Barbara) Hurford; grandchildren, Christopher, Tricia, Amy, Jeffrey and Joey; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Albert Phare; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Ethan; and siblings, Walter, Roy, Fred and Clarence Phare and Pearl Wilton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 noon.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township.
