Reuben Clarke
Reuben Frederick Clarke, 82, of Port Huron, passed away peacefully Friday, April 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.
Reuben was born August 8, 1933 in Didsbury, Alberta to the late Frank and Eleanor Clarke. Reuben married Gloria Stover on May 8, 2004 in Port Huron. Gloria passed away December 10, 2012.
Reuben worked on the family farm in Alberta, Canada until he was 18 years old. During his life time he was employed in a variety of fields including farming, lumber and oil fields. Reuben later retired from Lambton Alloys after many years in sales. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping, playing golf, and was an avid football fan. Reuben was active at Hillside Wesleyan Church where he ushered most Sundays and was known for his friendly hugs. He was also lovingly known as “Papa Reuben” to many of the children who attended his wife’s daycare over the years.
He is survived by four children, Jodi (Stephen) MacLean, Shawn (Melissa) Stover, Mark (Ben) Stover and Shannon Stevens; daughter-in-law, Tricia Stover; grandchildren, Dylan and Kendra MacLean, Kevin, Elizabeth, Frank Jr., Jacob and Ava Stover, Matthew and Spencer Stevens; two brothers, David (Eileen) Clarke and Albert Clarke; his sister, Esther Lafleur; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Stover; sister, Eunice Wilson; and brother, Chester Clarke.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. on Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016 in Hillside Wesleyan Church. The Reverend William Kinnan Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
