Ferdinand S Putze
Ferdinand S. “Fred” Putze, 93, of Kimball Township, died Friday, July 29, 2016.
He was born January 1, 1923 in Kimball Township to the late Fred and Marguerite Putze, He married Bernice T. Buch on July 5, 1947 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on October 25, 2009.
Fred retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1980 after 42 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Marysville American Legion Post #449 and DAV Chapter #12. He loved gardening, watching and feeding the birds and going on afternoon drives in the country.
He is survived by four children, Diane Cail, Sherry (Dennis) Smith, Dennis (Carol) Putze and Debra (Bill) McDonald; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; his siblings, Vi Odle, Marie Odle, Bill Putze and Dorothy Alexander; sister-in-law. Thea Putze and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred, and a sister, Valerie.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Bill McDonald, Dennis Smith, Matthew Putze, Barry Putze, Frank Wisniewski, Frank Wisniewski II and Harry Robinson.
