Ray E Squires
Ray Eldon Squires, 82, of Port Huron, who testified every day that he was the most blessed man on earth, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
He was born March 9, 1934 in Long Pine, Nebraska to the late Eldo and Martha Squires. He married Kathryn “Kay” Dye on July 14, 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mr. Squires owned and operated Vincent’s Heating and Plumbing with his sons prior to his retirement. He was a longtime board member and former chairman of Youth for Christ East Michigan and a member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church, where he taught Sunday School for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay; two sons, Daniel (Karen) Squires and David (Jane) Squires; seven grandchildren, Brendan (Chelsie) Squires, Bryan (Erika) Squires, Alanna Squires, Colleen (Robert) Keyworth, Sarah (Robert) Orchard, David Squires and Andrew Squires; siblings, Marge (Roger) Stump, Florence Dykins, Robert (Ruth) Squires, Connie (Keith) Bennett, Anne Kufeldt, Katherine Barnett, Elwin (Carol Jean) Squires, John (Marty) Squires and Glenn (Mary Kay) Squires; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Armstrong, Betty Allen and Paul and Pat Dye; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Shirley Armstrong and Daniel Lee Squires.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dirk Case and the Rev. Stan Liechty will officiate.
Burial has already taken place in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to Youth for Christ East Michigan or Blue Water Hospice.
