Gary W. Simpson, 64, of Reese, formerly of Port Huron, died early Friday morning August 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 3, 1951 in St. Clair, Michigan, son of the late Stanley and Phyllis (Rose) Simpson. He was a graduate of Port Huron High School. Mr. Simpson retired from Ford Motor Company in Romeo as a machine repairman, after thirty-five years of service. On November 14, 2013 he married Debbie (Woods) Wick in Saginaw. She survives him. Gary was a former member of the Lion’s Club in Port Huron and was a NASCAR and Detroit Tiger fan. He was well known for building and driving his 1965 Shelby Cobra.

Surviving besides his wife Debbie, are his three sons and one daughter, Jeremy (Rachel) Simpson of Port Huron; Scott (Jana) Simpson of Marysville; Adam Wick of Reese; Molly Wick of Texas; and six grandchildren, Kataria, Jeremy Jr., Wesley, Alayna, Tyler, and Truett. Also surviving is his brother Edward Simpson of Indianapolis, IN.

Visitation for Gary will take place from 4-8 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese. His body will then be taken to Port Huron to lie in state from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pollock Randall Funeral Home, 912 Lapeer Ave in Port Huron. There are no services scheduled.
