Lois Brown

Lois Charlene Brown, 82, of Port Huron, died Monday, September 12, 2016.

She was born February 7, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Earl and Hazel Tarzwell. She married Russell H. Brown. He preceded her in death in 1983.

Lois worked as a bartender at Mid-Way Bar for most of her career. She also worked as a server at A&W and several other restaurants in the area. She was a member of the American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8 and Blue Water Arie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles. She loved playing bingo.

She is survived by daughter, Cindy Marie (William) Burtch; son, Michael William Parr; sister, Patsy (Howard) Putze; brother, Romaine Tarzwell; grandson, James Sylvester (Katie) Gonder III; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Ann Gonder, Ashley Marie Gonder, and Autumn Nicole Gonder; several nieces and nephews; and her kitten, Peanut. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Guy Tarzwell; sister, Doris Calhoun; and her beloved cat of 23 years, Nutty.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8.
