Robert Traver

Robert Marther Traver, 88, of Fort Gratiot, died Friday, September 16, 2016.

He was born February 26, 1928 in Mt. Clemens to the late Roland and Martha Traver.

Mr. Traver served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with the St. Clair County Road Commission. He was a member of American Legion Charles Hammond Post 8 and enjoyed eating Vi’s cooking.

He is survived by a daughter, Catherine Calhoun; step daughter, Cathy Ann Beaubien; his loving companion, Lucille “Vi” Stebbins; half-sister, Suzanne (Steve) Barney; step sisters, Sandra Kilpatrick and Patricia Motika; two grandchildren, Ann Zweng and Billie-Jo Ultsch; great grandchildren, Jayvon Moncrief, Melissa Zweng, Ja-Nyah Moncrief and Jamari D. Traver; a great great grandchild, Mason Zweng; nephew, David Washburn; and niece, Debbie Washburn. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Traver; and a sister, Marilyn Washburn.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 in the Lakeside Cemetery Chapel. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
