Leon L "Brownie" Baker

Leon Leroy "Brownie" Baker, 95, of Port Huron Township, died Sunday, September 25, 2016.

He was born January 19, 1921 in Croswell to the late Frank and Ethel Baker. He married Charlotte Mausolf on November 7, 1953 in Port Huron.

Leon was an honorable World War II U.S. Army veteran. Our country was blessed by this Bronze Star veteran who served faithfully from D-Day plus one on Omaha Beach to Berlin. He was employed by Mueller Brass for over 40 years. His quiet character was felt by all who knew him. Brownie was a committed husband, gracious father, wise patriarch, dedicated worker, and friend to all.

His life and memory will live on in his wife of 62 years, Charlotte; his sons, Terry (Dawn) and Tim (Dee); his four grandchildren, Brad (Iva), Cory (Katie), Blayne, and Brei; his sister, Jean French; and will be passed down in perpetuity to his great grandchildren, Logan, Charlotte, David, and Bennett; and all future family members. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Baker.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bonnie Klos will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Timothy, Blayne, Brei, Terry, Brad and Cory Baker.
