Clara E Miller

Clara Ethel Miller, 90, of Kimball Township, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

She was born March 6, 1926 in Port Huron to the late Stephen P. and Ethel M. Bruin. She married the love of her life, Robert H. Miller on November 8, 1947 in Emmett. He died on September 18, 2007 just before their 60th wedding anniversary.

Clara was a graduate of Memphis High School and Eastern Michigan University. She was a teacher for a short time at Memphis High School before spending the majority of her career at Kimball Elementary and Central Middle School. She enjoyed travelling with her family, especially the trips to Ireland, Las Vegas, Yellowstone National Park, Hawaii, and the Alaskan cruise. She was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, enjoyed square dancing with her husband, and was a wonderful bread baker.

She is survived by three daughters, Mellanie MacMillan, Jill Miller and Monica Miller; a son, Kevin Miller; two grandchildren, Duncan (Lena) MacMillan and Carl (Eryn) MacMillan; nine great grandchildren, Brianna, James, Diana, Jeremy, Aidan, Teighan, Orla, Blake, and Corbin MacMillan; and a nephew, Patrick Ramsey.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian; three sisters, Helen Ramsey, Jean Cowhy, and Madeline Bruin; and a brother, James Bruin.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be recited at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Miller will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Rev. James Arwady will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Pallbearers will be Kevin Miller, Todd Waddell, Carl, Duncan, Aidan, and Jeremy MacMillan.
