Dale Bynum
Dale Giles Bynum, 75, of Port Huron Township, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Blue Water Hospice Home.
He was born October 21, 1941 in Detroit to the late Giles and Ileen Bynum. He married Mae DeLuca on August 3, 1963 in Port Huron.
Mr. Bynum retired from Port Huron Area Schools in 1997 where he spent the majority of his teaching career at Holland Woods Intermediate School. He graduated from Mt. Clemens High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and his master’s from Michigan State University. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at his cottage on Hunter’s Lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, boating, traveling the world, birdwatching and playing cards.
Dale is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mae; a daughter, Cindy (Larry) Klaus; a son, Mark (April) Bynum; a sister, Janice Watson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Michele Caporale.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Port Huron. The Rev. George Asker will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Bynum, Larry Klaus, Nathan Shafer, Courtney Shafer, Luca Bynum, Jacob Klaus and Gabrielle Bynum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice Home.
