Mildred Lewandowski, 93, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
She was born May 10, 1923 in Port Huron to the late John and Harriet Scahill. She married Chester Lewandowski on March 26, 1943 in Port Huron. They were married 72 years before Chester died on September 16, 2015.
Mrs. Lewandowski worked at Newberry’s, H.A. Smith and in accounting for Mullins Roofing. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, baking and outdoor activities. She attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church for over 30 years.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Sharyl Lewandowski; two grandsons, Joshua (Jennifer) and Nicholas Lewandowski (Peggy Heintz); three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Tyler and Nicholas; brother-in-law, Richard (Frances) Lewandowski; sisters-in-law, Annie (Harley) Thomas and Donna Beattie; and several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Christine Newingham and Wendy (Keith) Zick. She was preceded in death by her son, Dean Lewandowski on February 5, 2012; and seven sisters.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
