Obituary

Evelyn L. McClellan, 96, of Marysville, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017.

She was born May 21, 1920 in Thealka, Kentucky to the late Charles and Rosie Lewis. She married Alex J. McClellan on June 24, 1945 in Bethesda, Maryland. He died April 10, 2004.

Evelyn worked in Washington D.C. as an Administrative Assistant in the U.S. Public Health Service from 1941 to 1945 when she moved to Michigan with her husband. In subsequent years, she partnered with her husband in their real estate business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Port Huron for more than 50 years and a member and past president of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member and past president of the former Marysville Women’s Club and also the Marysville Book Club.

She is survived by two sons, John A. (Valerie) McClellan and Robert A. McClellan, both of Marysville; five grandchildren, John A. (Dana) McClellan of Saline, Andrea McClellan of St. Clair, Robert A. (Courtney) McClellan of Marysville, Michele (Matthew) Simmons of St. Clair and Michael McClellan of Royal Oak; six great grandchildren, Mara, Sloane, Claire and Evan McClellan, Peyton and Kyle Simmons; two brothers, Vencil H. (Jane) Lewis of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Don (Sandra) Lewis of Staffordsville, Kentucky; three sisters, Billie Taylor of Winter Park, Florida, Jearlene Meadows of Richmond, Kentucky and Mary (Keith) Boyd of Ashland, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Mary Lewis of Baltimore, Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sharon McClellan, in 2001; sister-in-law, Margaret Johnson, in 2009; and brother-in-law, William Meadows and brother, Ronald Lewis, both in 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Reverend William R. Wright of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Evelyn’s grandsons.
