Martha Gentner
Martha Mary Gentner, 87, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
She was born March 11, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Hedwig Visga. She married Clarence Gentner on October 14, 1950 in Marysville.
Mrs. Gentner was employed with Prestolite Wire Company for 43 years until her retirement. She was a long time member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Marysville Council #9526 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Bingo, pencil coloring and volunteered at craft shows. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Golden Girls Dialysis Group.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clarence; children, Cheryl (EJ) Anglebrandt, Deborah (James) Nelson, Laurie Baker and Mary (Thomas) Dupuie; son-in-law, James Schneider; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Hill; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Schneider in 1990; brothers, Anthony and Theodore Visga; and sisters, Theresa Schaefer and Florence Prentice.
Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be recited at 7:30 pm.
She will lie in state from 10:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Thursday, February 23, 2017 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be James and Joshua Nelson, TJ Dupuie, Rick Anglebrandt, Adam Schneider and Mike Rock.
Memorials may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus Marysville Council #9526 Auxiliary.
