Victoria Hartwick. 99, of Marysville, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017.

She was born April 14, 1917 to the late George and Mary (Lunda) Hnilica in Belleville, Illinois, where she spend her childhood.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Victoria’s hands were never idle. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, gardener and crafter, turning rags into rugs, seashells into flower bouquets and costume jewelry into ornate Christmas trees. Victoria spend 30 years working for AC Sparkplug in Flint, where she met her husband of 49 years, Sherman Hartwick. They were married October 3, 1942. After retirement she and Sherm spent many happy summers at their small lake cottage in Barton City, Michigan, and many warm winters near the ocean in Vero Beach, Florida.

Victoria is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Dennis) Clyne of Marysville; granddaughter, Andrea Clyne of Ann Arbor; grandson, Nicholas (Amanda) Clyne of South Bend, Indiana; a sister, Irene Downey of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews and friends of the family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman on January 19, 1990; her sisters, Rose Arndt and Marie Filipovich; and nephew, Randall Arndt.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris, Michigan.
