Donald B Clyne

February 23rd, 1930 to May 4th, 2017

Donald Burling Clyne passed away peacefully on May 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland hospital in Pontiac. Donald was born to Burlington and Eleanor (Schuler) Clyne on February 23rd, 1930 in Port Huron, Michigan.

Donald served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War while stationed in the Pacific. Upon his return to Michigan, he worked at Grand Trunk Western Railroad where he retired in 1992. Donald was an active member of the Gold Wings Motorcycle Club, bowling league, Grand Trunk Western Railroad Credit Union board, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. When he wasn’t found riding his motorcycle, working in his garage or doing wood working, he was at home spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his wife, Bertha (Schmelzer) Clyne; his daughter, Vicki (Charles) Corry; his son, Donald Frank Clyne; his sister, Ella Joan (Jerry) Grant; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Donald is preceded in death by his Father, Burlington Clyne; His mother, Eleanor Clyne; his sisters, Bernadine McFarlane and Rose Mary Hanel; his daughter, Constance Diane Lukianoff; and his sister in-law, Dorthea Schmelzer; his great grandson, Nathaniel Lee Gould, and his great granddaughter, Olivia Moore.

A memorial service will begin at 10:30am on Friday, May 12th, 2017 at Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel located on 1209 Kraft Rd, Port Huron, MI 48060.
