Linda M Thayer

July 30th, 1946 to May 7th, 2017

Linda Mae Thayer, 70, of Port Huron Township, met her Lord and Savior face to face on Sunday, May 7, 2017 in her home with her family by her side.

She was born July 30, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Robert and Eva Jonseck. She met the love of her life, Gerald D. Thayer, at age 14 and would have been married 48 years on June14. She had a wonderful relationship with her hubby and they were commonly referred to as "salt n pepper". She had three children and ten grandchildren who she loved very much and was very thankful that all of them love the Lord and are serving Him.

Linda loved the Lord with all her heart and loved her family and friends. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior as a young girl at the Salvation Army. Later, she was involved in the band, Corps Cadets and with her hubby became Sunday School teachers for the youth. She was very devoted to her Lord and Savior, to her family, and to her church, Cross Current, where she was a greeter and a member.

Everybody that met her loved her. She was the sweetest, most caring, loving, and encouraging person. She loved to laugh and she will be remembered for her love for the Lord, her laugh, and her love for chocolate.

She loved to travel and had the privilege of going to Israel with her hubby in 1998, where they were both baptized in the Jordan River. She also loved to go out to eat, especially when it was date night with their good neighbors, Paul and Peggy.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Thayer; her children, Gerald H. Thayer (Amy Frazier), Jenny (Chris) Frazier, & Larissa (Ryan) Kowalski; ten grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph, Emma and Gabe Thayer, Alesia, Evie, Josiah and Samuel Frazier and Logan and Liam Kowalski; and her sister, Janet Hisscock.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Cross Current Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Mark Wargo will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Current Church.
