Evelyn Weakland

January 29th, 1929 to May 12th, 2017

Evelyn Weakland, 88, of Battle Creek, formerly of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek.

She was born January 29, 1929 in Pontiac to the late Clare and Iva Welch.

Evelyn and her husband, Frank, owned Weakland’s Boat Livery in Marysville for 21 years. She retired from Mercy Pavilion in Battle Creek.

Evelyn is survived by five children, Gay Kanthack, Ray (Roxanne) Weakland, Gary Weakland, Jeri A. Gibson and Perry Weakland; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great great grandchild; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Weakland; daughter, Mary Kook; grandson, Thomas Kanthack; and many other family members.

Evelyn will be buried next to her husband in Riverlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017. Following the burial, the family will be having a gathering for family and friends at her son Gary’s home to share memories beginning at 1:00 pm
