Catherine L MacCallum

Catherine L. MacCallum, 93, of Marysville, died Thursday, May 25, 2017.

She was born February 19, 1924 in Port Huron to the late Albert and Marion Herr. She married Edward L. MacCallum on May 6, 1944 in Marysville. He died December 9, 1972.

Catherine was very active at St. Christopher Catholic Church, working on the annual Harvest Dinners with the St. Christopher Rosary Alter Society and also serving on the Church Council. She was a past member of the Moose Lodge #158 and volunteered with the American Red Cross.

She is survived by her children, Catherine (Peter) Cangemi, Edward “Sandy” (Maureen) MacCallum and Michelle “Shelly” (William) Albers; grandchildren, Renee, Raquel and Matthew Cangemi, Ashley, Cassie and Colleen MacCallum, and Erin “Albers” McIntyre; great grandchildren, Ian, Skyler, Hailey and Aiden Cangemi, Briella and Brynleigh McIntyre; sister, Joyce Herr; sister-in-law, Doris Herr; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Sovereen; and brother, Albert “Don” Herr.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

She will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Cangemi, Ian Cangemi, Robert Sovereen, Roger Herr, Jerry Herr and Brian Herr. Honorary pallbearers will be Aiden Cangemi, Randy Sovereen, Dennis Herr and David Herr.
