Wanda J Cowper
Wanda Jean Cowper, 91, of Port Huron, died Friday, June 16, 2017.
She was born January 17, 1926 in Port Huron to the late George and Maisie Davidson and was a lifelong area resident. She married Darold F. Cowper on July 31, 1943 in Springfield, Missouri. He died October 10, 2013.
Mrs. Cowper was a graduate of Port Huron High School and Port Huron School of Cosmetology and owned her own salon. Family activities and events were especially important to Wanda. She and her husband also enjoyed playing euchre with friends and traveling in the U.S., Japan and Hawaii. She was a member of the Marysville Women’s Golf League and the Port Huron Lioness Club. She was a former member and Sunday School teacher at Westminster Presbyterian Church and attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church, where she served many years on the funeral luncheon committee.
She is survived by a daughter, W. Gaye (A. Craig) Moody; two grandsons, Jason C. (Suzanne) Moody and Eric N. (Heather) Moody; four great grandchildren, Elijah, Ryan, Emery and Claire Moody; a sister, M. Loraine King; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Cowper and Erma Brown; and several nieces, one nephew and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Darold G. Cowper in 1998.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Ake will officiate.
