Glenn D Shover
Glenn D. Shover, 96, of Fort Gratiot Township, went home to heaven on Sunday, August 6, 2017.
He was born August 19, 1920 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late James and Edith Shover. He married the love of his life, Elsie Chiappelli, on May 27, 1938. She died on December 31, 2004.
Glenn served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and Elsie owned and operated H & H Cleaning for many years after moving to Port Huron from Pontiac, Michigan. He enjoyed gardening, making bird houses, and especially his books made of newspaper clippings for his family and friends. He also enjoyed his cabin in Harbor Beach and spending winters in Florida. Most of all, he loved his family and his relationship with Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his daughters, G. Antonia Koreiba, Sandra (Gary) Koreiba and Bonnie (Rev. Jerry) Spring; grandchildren, Darla Koreiba, Maralee (Dennis) Smith, Gary Lee (Kim) Koreiba, Michael (Nicole) Koreiba, David (Kristy) Spring and Jeremy (Heather) Spring; great grandchildren, Aaron (Brittany) Smith, AnnaLee (Nicholas) Traeger, Gary Koreiba II, Alexander Koreiba, Aedan Koreiba, Brendan Koreiba, Carson Koreiba, Tyler Spring, Isaac Spring, Gabriel Spring and Jacob Spring; brother, Bill Shover; and Ron Alexander, who was just like a son to him.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 in Lakeport Wesleyan Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Jerry Spring will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
