Catherine Hillock
Catherine Geddes McLaren Hillock, 93, of Fort Gratiot, passed away August 29, 2017 at Blue Water Lodge assisted living.
Catherine was born on April 22, 1924 to Robert and Jean (Twivey) McLaren. She married Armond L. Hillock on September 6, 1947. They met at a dance in Sarnia after Armond returned from his service during World War II.
Catherine was a “gray lady” volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Port Huron for many years. She enjoyed golfing at Willow Ridge with the ladies and playing cards. She enjoyed working on puzzles and craft projects. Her family will treasure the many quilts and gifts she made for them. Catherine and Armond had many friends they golfed with and enjoyed going on golf weekends every year with them. Catherine will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Catherine is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Armond; her children, Sandra (Jack) Walczak, James (Deb) Hillock, Suellen (Steve) Claflin and Robert (Angela) Hillock, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alexander McLaren, grandson Bryan Repp and many brothers in law and sisters in law.
Memorial services for Catherine will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Port Huron at 11:00 a.m.

Armond and the family are very thankful and appreciative of the love and care provided to Catherine from Kelly Jones and her staff at Blue Water Lodge and to Heartland Hospice.
