LeRoy C Hartman
LeRoy Carl Hartman, 90, of Port Huron, died Friday, September 22, 2017.
He was born February 14, 1927 in Port Huron to the late Roy and Irene Hartman. He married Berniece A. Hickson on May 30, 1948 in an airplane at an air show in Harbor Beach.
LeRoy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with Chrysler Corporation, London’s Farm Dairy where he was a milkman and Port Huron Paper Company. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and gardening. LeRoy was a car enthusiast and enjoyed his 1984 Chevy. His mission in life was to tell others about Christ through a poem he had written titled Banquet in the Sky.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Berniece; children, Sherry Hartman, Gail (Stan) Jurk, Vickie (Brooks) Moore, Bruce (Michelle) Hartman, Roy Hartman and Julie (Tod) Loeding; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Gostinger and Donna Withun; sister-in-law, Joyce Mclennan; brothers-in-law, Dale (Doris) Hickson and Raymond (Elaine) Hickson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Hartman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Wadhams Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Pastor Rich Reinhart will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
The family prefers that memorials be made to Wadhams Baptist Church.
