Leo J Carpa
Leo Joseph Carpa, 87, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
He was born December 4, 1930 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Ella Carpa. He married Helene M. McIvor on April 20, 1963 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2014.
Leo was a 1948 graduate of St. Stephen High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Mueller Brass and retired from General Motors in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post #449, Blue Water Aerie #3702 F.O.E. and the Moose Lodge #158. He also loved to go fishing.
He is survived by his children, David L. Carpa, Nancy Klettner and Ann (Chic) Moore; step-son, Stuart (Jayme) McLeod; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Kyle Klettner, Erin Stewart, Robert Rice III, Hannah Rice, Ranae Heuer, Jonathon Johnston, Robert Rankin, Joe Vince, Rachael Westrick and Angela Leshuk; several great grandchildren, including Leo Nadolski; and several nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his brothers, James, George and Frankie Carpa.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
