Charlotte I Pelton
Charlotte Irene Pelton, 90, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 17, 1927 in Alpena to the late Lawson and Ruth Collins. She married Earl Pelton on December 23, 1946 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2006.
Mrs. Pelton was an LPN with Port Huron Hospital and retired from the Maternity Unit, where she was affectionately called “Ma”, in 1989. Faith was a very important part of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a former longtime member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, wood carving, quilting, decoupage, ceramics, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two children, Carol Hendrick (Gene Warshefski) and Douglas (Kemmie) Pelton; a daughter-in-law, Susan Pelton; six grandchildren, Dennis Hendrick, Jason (Christy) Hendrick, Christopher (Krista) Pelton, Heather Pelton, Melanie Pelton and Kevin Pelton; seven great grandchildren, Caleb and Taylor Hendrick, Elizabeth and Rylee Pelton, Grayson and Carson Campbell and Jordan Pelton; two sisters, Beverley Zauner and Sharon Curtiss; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Craig Pelton; and three siblings, Herbert Collins, Bruce Collins and Joyce Huffman.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Bonnie Klos will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
