Larry Frederick Klaus, 76, of Port Huron Township, joined his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2018.
He was born March 10, 1941 in Port Huron to the late Harold and Eileen Klaus. He married Brenda L. Kaufman on March 31, 1962 in Port Huron.
Larry’s life work involved his unique ability to repair mechanical devices, machinery, and small engines. He worked at Mueller Brass, Speed’s Lawn and Garden, Wadhams Small Engine and the KOA campground in Wadhams.
Larry enjoyed hunting, driving his 64 Chevy Impala, and spending time at his cabin in the woods near Avery, Michigan. He also loved to spend time with his family, his friends, and his beloved dog “Joey”.
His presence, desire to help others, his unique sense of humor and ability to light up a room will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda; sons, Larry (Cindy) Klaus of DeWitt, and Paul Klaus (Shannon Torres) of Kimball; grandchildren, Courtney (Nathan) Schaffer, Jacob Klaus (fiancé Holly Conner), Jesse Klaus and Timothy Klaus, and Gabriella “Gigi” Gobeyn; brother, Richard Klaus; sister-in-law, Sandy (Roger) Maes; brother-in-law, Leon (Gloria) Kaufman; many nieces and nephews; the KOA staff; and other dear friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Fordyce “Speed” and Jean Kaufman; and sister-in-law, Margaret Klaus.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The family will share stories at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff King will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
