Albert J. "Bud" Wheatley

Albert James “Bud” Wheatley, 81, of Port Huron Township, died Saturday, January 27, 2018.

He was born December 3, 1936 in Port Huron to the late Wilfred and Mary Wheatley.

Bud graduated from Port Huron High School, and was a proud member of the Class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He owned and operated Bud’s Pool in Port Huron Township and The Pool Store in Marysville prior to his retirement. He was a former longtime member of the Port Huron Township Fire Department and Port Huron Township Planning Commission.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Melissa Haring) Wheatley; granddaughters, Erica (Chad) Capadagli and Stephanie Wheatley; two great granddaughters, Katrina and Keira Capadagli; his former wife, Brenda Wheatley; nieces, Sherridee (Brad) Morey, Sherryl (Ron) Church, Wendy Stroh, Suellen Ortiz, Tori (Al) Davis, and Tracie Kern; his beloved dog, Blossom; and several cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Wheatley; sisters, Mary Lou (Allen) Hartman and Janet (Calvin) Westfall; and nephews, Jeffery Hartman, Paul Stroh, Jr., Duane Desero and Shawn Church.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Ronald Jacobs will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
