Grant D Cheney

Grant Duane Cheney, 84, of Fort Gratiot, died Thursday, February 15, 2018.

He was born February 19, 1933 in Port Huron to the late Albert C. and Ina M. Cheney. He married Daisy Jane Cartmell on April 27, 1957 in Grace Episcopal Church.

Mr. Cheney worked for Southeastern Michigan Gas Company for over 30 years until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a longtime member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Marysville and enjoyed several hobbies.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Daisy; four children, Jack (Linda) Cheney, Pam (Kevin) Vaughn, Nancy (Mark) White, and Kathleen Taylor; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Fred) Pease; and brother-in-law, Jack (Sharon) Cartmell. He was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Cheney.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend John Hitzeroth will officiate.

Burial will be in Allied Veterans Columbarium in Port Huron.
