James J Reardon
James Joseph “Jim” Reardon, 56, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at home surrounded by his family after a three month battle with cancer.
He was born April 6, 1961 in Detroit to the late Richard “Pat” and Eileen Reardon. He married Christina Vonalt on August 8, 1986 at the Neuman Center in Port Huron.
Jim graduated from Marysville High School in 1979 and played quarterback for the Viking football team. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Service from Central Michigan University. He worked in food sales for several years before joining the General Motors team as a financial analyst. He was an active member and youth group leader at Marysville United Methodist Church, and was a former Boy Scout Leader, Assistant Marysville Football Coach, and Marysville “Man of the Year”. He was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare and serve food for friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; two sons, Ethan and Nathan Reardon; siblings, Michael (Gail) Reardon of Macomb Township, Dave (Veronica) Reardon of Sterling Heights, and Colleen (Jim) Sigmund of St. Clair Shores; his parents-in-law, Fred and Ellen Vonalt of Mancelona; step-mother, Katherine Reardon of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Faye (Douglas) Knedgen of Novi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Marysville United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Barbara Welbaum will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.
