Dorothy R Gostinger
Dorothy Rose Gostinger, 96, of Battle Creek, formerly of Port Huron and Florida, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo.
She was born October 17, 1921 in Port Huron to the late Henry and Ethel Meinhardt. She married Joseph R. Gostinger on January 14, 1939 in Port Huron. He died July 30, 1992.
Mrs. Gostinger was employed for many years with Troy Laundry. She enjoyed reading, quilting and being a member of her sewing circle.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Jean (Carman) Hamilton and Judith Curtis; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Curtis; a sister, Elizabeth Tremp and two brothers, John and Howard Meinhardt.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Gostinger will lie in state at Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018. The Very Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo, KHS will officiate. The Rite of Christian Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Whitmore, Steve Hamilton, Dan Hamilton, Michelle Wolfe, Gary Wolfe and Kevin Hostetter. David Mohler will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish.
