Jayne O. Venia

January 13th, 1957 to May 17th, 2018

Jayne Orlyss Venia, 61, of Marysville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

She was born January 13, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to the late William P. and Orlyss M. (Lawrence) Venia.

Jayne wanted to be a nurse since she was a little girl. She achieved that dream by obtaining her degree and was employed at Faith Medical Center, Marwood Nursing and Rehab and, for the last 25 years, with Lake Huron Medical Center (formerly St. Joseph Mercy Hospital). Jayne loved helping people and was a compassionate caregiver.

Jayne was an avid reader and movie buff. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and her dog, Scruffy.

She is survived by her siblings, James (Denise) Venia, Judy (Patrick) Cogley, Janette (Kirk) Seibert, Joel (Gay) Venia, Jennifer (Thomas) Lahnala and Joni (David) Smego; 15 nieces and nephews, Jamie (Jay) Puffpaff, Roger Fruin, Chelsey (Luke) Langmesser, Bridget Cogley (Phillip Chamblee), Ryan Cogley, Stephanie (Michael) Maximiuk, Don (Lynne) Seibert, Brian Seibert (Ricardo Valdez), Jared Venia, Jessica (Bart) Leahy, Kimberly, Kelsey, Daniel and Allison Lahnala, and Andrew Smego; 15 great nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her niece, Erin Cogley May.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home, concluding with a Scripture Service at 6 p.m.

Jayne will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Jayne will be buried in Marysville's Riverlawn Cemetery next to her parents. Pallbearers will be Jayne’s family.
