Ruth Ann Wendt

August 25th, 1954 to May 9th, 2018

Ruth Ann Kristick Wendt, 63, of Sevierville, formerly of Fort Gratiot, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2018 in her home.

She was born August 25, 1954 in Port Huron to the late Otto and Beulah Kristick. She married James Wendt on May 27, 1978.

Ruth was a Port Huron High graduate and went to Munich, Germany in 1972 with the marching band. She worked for Prestolite Wire Company, Blue Water Area Transportation and Dundas Insurance prior to her retirement. Ruth was a former member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church where she was active in Altar Guild, adult choir and as a member of the Church Council. She enjoyed living in East Tennessee, where she moved in 2015, and especially loved the beauty of the mountains. She was a foster parent, enjoyed gardening and cake decorating, and was an avid bowler in her younger days.

She is survived by her husband, James Robert Wendt; brothers, Kenneth (Colleen) Kristick of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Ronald (Sandra) Kristick of North Street; foster daughter, Paige Sopha, and her four children; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Nathan Adam and Jeremy James.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Our Saviour Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donald Doerzbacher will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
