Joe E Bacher
Joe Edward Bacher, 86, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2018.
He was born April 24, 1932 in Sikeston, Missouri, to the late Joe and Irene Bacher. He married Karen Lewandowski on February 26, 1977 in Port Huron.
Mr. Bacher graduated from Sikeston High School. He was a traveling salesman who loved to talk, retiring from John Middleton Company. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8 and V.F.W. Charles Schoor Post #796. He attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church, serving as a greeter and in the bread ministry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, Christmas lights, hanging out with the family on Fridays watching “Dukes of Hazzard,” visiting with people and passing out KitKat bars.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; a daughter, Jodi (John) Wunch; two grandchildren, Shaun (Pepper) Wunch and Elizabeth “Ellie” (Aaron) Howard; six great grandchildren, Journey, Dillan and Brody Wunch, Miranda, Alexis and Myla Howard; along with several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church Venue with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Brian Ake and the Rev. Stan Liechty will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force. Pallbearers will be Shaun Wunch, Paul Churchill, Aaron Howard, Barry Francek, Jeff Sergent and Bob Lewandowski.
