Janina C Nofs

Janina Catherine “Jeannette” Nofs, 91, of Kimball Township, died Sunday, June 17, 2018.

She was born November 25, 1926 in Hamtramck to the late Wladystaw and Wladystawa Tomaszewski. She married Norbert “Red” Nofs on October 21, 1961 in Warren. He died October 8, 1997.

Mrs. Nofs was employed at Chrysler Corporation prior to starting her family. She was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Peter) Salazar and Kimberly Tousignant (Rich Seim); five grandchildren, Alicia (Xavier) Ortiz, Andrew Salazar, Alex Salazar, Joshua Tousignant and Jacob Tousignant; and a great grandson, Joseph Ortiz. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Sylvester, Edwin and Leonard Tomaszewski.

Mrs. Nofs will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Salvatore Palazzolo, KHS, will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew and Alex Salazar, Eric and Ryan Dusci, and Joshua and Jacob Tousignant.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia & Alzheimer’s Resource Committee.
