Marion Jean Amey, 100, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, July 16, 2018.

She was born May 12, 1918 in Port Huron to the late Elmer and Bessie May. She married Gerald W. Amey on October 27, 1938 in Port Huron. He died November 1, 1997.

Mrs. Amey received her R.N. degree from Port Huron Junior College. She later returned to college to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Wayne State University and a master’s from Eastern Michigan University. She retired from Marysville Schools in 1978. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, crocheting, and spending time in Florida and northern Michigan.

She is survived by two daughters, Jean (Andrew) Quinn and Bonnie (Kenneth) May; five grandchildren, Andrew Quinn, Michael (Margaret) Quinn, Amey (Steven) Leathorn, Kenneth May II and Dr. Jessica May; six great grandchildren, Lucas and Parker Quinn, Wyatt Leathorn, and Sloane, Calvin and Rosalyn May; a sister, Lucille McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Amey Jr.; and a granddaughter-in-law, Erin May.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2018 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Leonard Kitson will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Andrew Quinn Jr., Michael Quinn, Kenneth May II, Donald Frohm, Wyatt Leathorn, Steven Leathorn, Luke Quinn and Parker Quinn.
