Tracy Myers
Tracy Inez Myers, 53, of Port Huron, was united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, August 20, 2018 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab after a long courageous battle with Huntington’s disease.
She was born November 16, 1964 in Port Huron to the union of the late Frank and Barbara Williams. She was the youngest of six children.
In elementary school, Tracy was known for her fancy and creative penmanship. She loved her name, especially “Inez”, and would beautifully write her full name on all her school folders - Tracy Inez Williams. In 1982, she graduated from Port Huron High School. While there, she participated in the Color Guard and JV basketball. During her high school years, Tracy was known for her smooth moves on the dance floor. Her friends would closely watch and admire how cool she looked as she danced. Tracy also attended the St. Clair County Skills Center at that time and received a Certificate of Accounting and Bookkeeping, which she utilized for many years in the bookkeeping department at National Bank of Detroit until she became disabled.
In her adulthood, Tracy was a member of Zion Cathedral of Praise Church for over 20 years. Under the tutelage of Bishop John Tate, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Tracy enjoyed attending church services. She loved her church and she loved prayer. Here she was known at “Sweet Tracy.” She had the same reputation at Marwood Nursing and Rehab, where she resided. Here she was known for her kindness and polite manners. Even on her most difficult days, Tracy would muster the strength to say, “Thank you” to a nurse or “I love you” to a visitor.
The name Tracy is an Irish word meaning war-like or fighter. How appropriate to describe Tracy as she lived her name. Tracy taught us how to face adversity with a warrior spirit, with strength, and with dignity. She showed us how to endure in battle and to never give up. The extraordinary fact is that she did it with the joy of the Lord and never complained! Tracy fought a good fight; she finished her course, she kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
Tracy leaves to cherish her memory, Willie Myers Sr., her pillar; two dedicated and loving sons, Willie Myers Jr. and Joseph Myers; a faithful and loving daughter, Shauntay Myers, and beloved daughter, LaShawn (Travis) Hill; three adorable grandchildren, Josiah, Gianna and Kalayna Johnson; a beloved and special big brother, Kirk Williams; a devoted and loving sister, Sonja Joy (Randy) Jones; a much adored brother, Frank Williams; two special cousins, Leon “Lenny” Edwards and Barbara “Lori” Snipes; two dear God sisters, Theresa “Terry” Edwards and Cinder McCrory; as well as a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
