Alexander M Ferguson
Alexander McKellar Ferguson, 81, of Fort Gratiot Township, died Thursday, August 23, 2018.
He was born October 24, 1936 in Mosa Township, Ontario to the late Hugh and Annie Ferguson. He married Diana Hall on July 14, 2008 in Lakeport.
Alex was a farmer growing up and a realtor since the ‘70s. He was a member of Havelock Masonic Lodge #238 in Watford, Ontario and Lakeshore Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed canning, gardening, baking and cooking. He will be remembered as a family man and a hard worker. He was proud to live the last 18 years of his life to the fullest with his wife, Diana. He considered himself a blessed man with a wonderful family and many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana; a daughter, Carol (Gary) Topping, two sons, Rick (Kim) Ferguson and Sandy (Angela) Ferguson; stepchildren, Craig (Diane) Hall and Deborah Roles; ten grandchildren, Brent (Tanya) Ferguson, Amy (Joe) Wszol, Brad (Bonnie) Topping, Ashleigh Topping, Tyler Ferguson (Stephanie Pagnuelo), Alex Ferguson (Shawn Grogan), Sammantha Roles, Cortney Roles, Craig Hall Jr. and Chandler (Rebecca) Hall; three great grandchildren, Ethan Hall, Andrew Ferguson and Novak Wszol; two siblings, Ralph (Dolores) Ferguson and Jean Lehrbass; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings and their spouses, Don (Helen) Ferguson, Ken (Stella) Ferguson and Mary (Lorne) Gilroy; and a brother-in-law, Bill Lehrbass.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Lakeshore Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Inurnment will be in the Lakeshore Presbyterian Columbarium. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Pallatowitz, Tom Schrader, Greg McLeod, Bob McClelland and Bill Garrettson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Havelock Masonic Lodge #238, Lakeshore Presbyterian Church or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
