LeRoy "Mike" Tremp Jr.
LeRoy Michael “Mike” Tremp Jr, 72, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
He was born October 2, 1945 in Port Huron to the late LeRoy & Elizabeth Tremp.
Mike served the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Upon returning home, he worked at Prestolite Wire for 30 years prior to his retirement. Mike enjoyed boating and classic cars and traveled to car shows almost every weekend. He earned over 200 trophies with his 1967 Camaro. Mike was a lifetime member of the VFW and United Street Machine Association.
He is survived by his loving partner of 22 years, Francine Dye; two children, Dr. Stacey (Andrew) Tremp-Moore and LeRoy “Lee” (Christy) Tremp III; seven grandchildren, Samuel and Gabrielle Tremp, John, Daniel and Caroline Moore, and Conner and Marissa Stager; siblings, Lee Ann Hills, Patti (Steve) Tuffin, Robin Roberts and James (Deborah) Tremp; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lee Russell; and a brother-in-law, Patrick Hills.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Mike will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
The Very Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo, KHS will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lee Tremp, Sam Tremp, Andrew Moore, Jerald Tuffin, Jim Tremp Jr. and Jim Tuffin.
Burial will be in Allied Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church.
