Nezer "Irene" Webb

February 12th, 1938 to September 29th, 2018

Nezer “Irene” Webb, 80, of Port Huron Township, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

She was born February 12, 1938 in Bolton, North Carolina to the late Ebanezer and Etta Freeman. She married Samuel Webb on November 28, 1969 in Detroit.

Mrs. Webb graduated from Inkster High School and completed a nursing assistant program at a local community college. She worked at a laundry factory in Detroit before working over 20 years for General Motors in Livonia sewing car seats. Irene later was Supervisor of Security for Grace Hospital and then worked two years as a private investigator with Bevco Securities. She then worked at three nursing homes, including Nightingale Nursing Home in Detroit. She was a compassionate caregiver and was happy to spend time caring for others. When she was not working, she spent quality time raising her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Webb enjoyed fishing, bowling, sewing, crocheting, carpentry and gardening. Her favorite activity was cooking and her signature recipes were for rolls and pound cake. She was the only member of her family to score 300 in wii bowling. She was a talented seamstress and designer who made her children’s clothes, including many prom dresses. She enjoyed train riding to Niagara Falls, where she often vacationed, and she loved going to the casinos. She was very involved in raising her grandchildren and loved to help educate children and care for all those she loved.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Samuel; three daughters, Lanise (Brian) Buford, Vernisha Steele (Keith Buford) and Samantha Webb; 11 grandchildren, Tiffiany (Harris) Tucker, Lance Steele, Damon Webb, Gregory Patterson, Keith Buford Jr., Jevon Steele, Lorenzo Coker, Brian Buford Jr. and Brandon Buford; great grandchildren, Leland Brown, Bianca Daniels, Javon Smith, Santia Smith, Sandia Smith, Diamond Webb, Dana Webb, Davon Baker, Laila Steele, Gregory Patterson Jr., Shylah Patterson, Harris Tucker Jr., Nadia Tucker, Alan Tucker, Cali, Emery and Ariyah; two great great grandchildren, Corinthia Brown and Imir Daniels; a brother, John (Mellerese) Freeman; and a host of nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Melba and Marva. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Coker; brothers, James, Paris, Arie and Slade; and sisters, Eunice, Juanita and Ann Freeman.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. The Rev. Carl Miller will officiate.
