Eldon Grant Spring, 98, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with his beloved wife, Joyce, on October 30, 2018.

He was born in Jeddo, Michigan, on September 1, 1920, to the late Clayton and Candace Spring.

Eldon met his sweetheart, Joyce Maes, when he was 21 years old on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941. They married two days after Joyce’s eighteenth on May 6, 1944, and were married nearly 74 years. Joyce passed away on April 20, 2018.

Eldon and Joyce lived in Port Huron, Michigan. He was an electrician for Mueller Brass until he retired in 1981. They moved to Anna Maria Island in Florida, and spent 30 wonderful years walking on the beach and enjoying time together. In 2011, they returned to Port Huron to live closer to family.

Through the years, Eldon’s hobbies included hunting, operating a ham radio, tinkering in his shed, and lending a hand to family and friends. Eldon had a deep faith and a close relationship with God. He shared daily devotions with Joyce, ending in specific prayer for each family member by name and others who were on their hearts. He was an involved member in both the Port Huron Wesleyan Church, and First Church of the Nazarene in Bradenton, FL. Eldon enjoyed traveling with Joyce and going on mission trips.

Eldon is survived by his children, Pastor Jerry (Bonnie) Spring of Clarksville, TN, Judith (Larry) Grinder of Port Huron, and Debbie (David) Ingalls of Stanley, NC; grandchildren, David (Kristy) Spring of Nashville, GA, Jeremy (Heather) Spring of Clarksville, TN, Andrea (Andrew) Paul of Marysville, MI, Karen (Dr. Beau) Dowden of Fort Gratiot, MI, and David and Sarah Ingalls of Stanley, NC; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Gabriel (Sara), Jacob (Kyndal), and Isaac Spring, Casie and Camden Paul, Brynn, Mallory, and Grant Dowden; great-great granddaughter, Adelina Spring; and many nieces and nephews. Eldon was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his parents; two brothers, Bruce and George Spring; and a sister, Ina Nunham

A memorial service for Eldon will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Croswell Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Bradenton, FL, designated for missions, or to Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron, MI, designated for the library.
