Geraldine L Jahn

Geraldine “Jean” L. Jahn, 91, of Goodells, died peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2018.

She was born January 5, 1927 in Kimball Twp. to the late Walter & Edna Sparling. She married the love of her life, Carl Jahn on March 20, 1946 in Goodells. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years on October 28, 2001.

Mrs. Jahn was a graduate of Port Huron High School and graduated from the Port Huron Junior College School of Practical Nursing in 1967. She retired from the St. Clair County Medical Center where she worked for 10 years and Mercy Hospital, where she was a nurse for 19½ years. Jean attended Goodells Gospel Church for many years. Her hobbies included bowling, playing cards, many kinds of needlework, taking photos and attending family gatherings.

She is survived by four children, Sue Ross, Carl “Bill” (Marcia) Jahn, Jo (Ron) Rusch and Theodore “Ted” (Carol) Jahn; son-in-law, Terry Wedge; daughter-in-law, Kim Jahn; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Houle; brothers-in-law, Walter, Robert, Harry Jahn and Dwight Blatt; sisters-in-law, Elaine Recker, Marion Ball, Evelyn Sutphen, Phyllis Byrd, Lucille Sparling, Betty (Homer) Howard; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Wedge; son, Al Jahn; son-in-law, Gordon Ross; granddaughter, Ashlee Jahn; brothers, Walter Sparling and Orval (Charlotte) Sparling; sisters, Theola (Gerald) Pearson, Madelyn (Stan) MacDonald, Velma Blatt and Evelyn Jahn; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Tracy and Martha (Leo) Miller; and brothers-in-law, Maurice Houle, Otto Jahn, Ed Jahn and Gordon Inch.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.

Burial will take place in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Twp.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/ Blue Water Hospice or Special Olympics.
