Robert L "Tawas Bobby" Stager

Robert Levi “Tawas Bobby” Stager, 89, of Smiths Creek, formerly of Cadillac and Fort Myers, Florida, died Friday, November 9, 2018.

He was born March 29, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Herbert and Edith Stager. He married Doris M. Carr on April 1, 1950 in Port Huron. She died May 26, 2010.

Bob served in the U.S. Army. Afterwards, he worked for Ford Motor Company as a hydraulic repairman and then enjoyed a long retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing cards.

He is survived by four children, Robert (Karen) Stager of Marysville, Vickie (Bob) Wagner of Cape Coral, Florida, Cathy Johnson of Marysville, and Debby (John Hoshaw) Keil of Lutz, Florida; nine grandchildren, Brian, Shelly, Jodi, Renee, Stephanie, Michael, Amanda, Jason and Jaime; 14 great grandchildren; his longtime companion, Joan Tossey of Cadillac; two brothers, Leroy (Mary Kay) Stager of Port Huron and James (Cheri) Stager of Smiths Creek; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Herbert, Emory, Delbert, Norma, Kay, Betty, Dorothy and Virginia.

Graveside services at Woodland Cemetery Chapel will be announced. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
