Obituary

Frank Edwin Brown, 90, of Marysville, Michigan, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, December 28, 2018.

He was born August 4, 1928, in Marblehead, Ohio, to the late Joseph George and Edna Gladys Brown. He married Claire Elaine LeGalley on June 14, 1952, in New York City. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2011.

Frank served in the United States Navy from 1949-1953, aboard the submarine U.S.S. Spikefish. He retired from the Detroit Edison St. Clair Power Plant, where he was a shift supervisor, after 37 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who was a huge sports fan and enjoyed traveling, golfing, caring for his lawn, and playing with his children’s dogs: Abby, Zibby, and Lily Claire.

He is survived by his four daughters, Susan (Jeff) Jones, Laura (Susan Fecteau) Brown, Nancy (Gary) Brown, and Sara (Matt) Schueller; five grandchildren, Max, Henry, Rose, and Sam Fecteau Brown and Michael Schueller; three sisters, Josephine Hirst, Gladys (Steve) Kovach, and Beverly Jean (Red) Whitten; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Charles, Elwood, and Milton Brown and Betty Schissler.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, in Marysville United Methodist Church, where the family will receive visitors beginning at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow immediately after the service. The Reverend Barbara Welbaum will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be at sea under the direction of the U.S. Navy. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
