Barry J DeKold

Barry Joseph DeKold Sr., 66, of Port Huron Township, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital from complications of cardiac arrest.

He was born December 31, 1952 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Shirley DeKold.

Barry was a technician with AT&T for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, bicycling, golfing, boating, listening to music and taking the scenic route while traveling. He loved watching the Detroit sports teams and going to the YMCA. He was an active mentor and sponsor with AA for many years.

He is survived by two children, Barry DeKold Jr. and Heather (Anthony) Durfee; a granddaughter, Zada Laramie; a sister, Ann (Dan) Jarchow; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifetime friends.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donald Doerzbacher will officiate. A wake will immediately follow the service at Our Savior Lutheran. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army.
