CCM William A Cieciek, USAF, Ret
Command Chief Master Sergeant, William A. Cieciek, U.S. Air Force Ret, 91, of Marysville, died Sunday, February 3, 2019.
He was born September 26, 1927 in Detroit to the late Boleslaw and Wladyslawa Cieciek. He married Felice “Phyllis” Grabits on October 8, 1949 in Blaine, Ohio.
Chief Cieciek served in World War II and the Korean War and then after retiring from the U.S. Air Force was a Department of the Army Civilian Executive until his retirement in 1987. He was a life member of the NRA, life member of D.A.V. Chapter #12 and a member of Marysville American Legion Post #449. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a life member of Pine Grove Lodge #11 and life member and Past Master of Marysville Lodge #498 F. & A.M.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Felice “Phyllis; three children, William (Margaret) Cieciek, Eve (Dennis) Corsi and Christine (Dennis) Walsh; three grandchildren, Daniel (Joanna) Cieciek, Matthew Cieciek and Chelsea Nichol; two great grandchildren, Addison and Madelyn Cieciek; two brothers, John (Cynthia) Schenk and Ed “Butch” (Lori) Hildreth; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Schenk.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. followed by military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
