Evelyn J "Mona" Emerick

Evelyn Joan "Mona" Emerick, 71, of Burtchville Township, died Monday, May 27, 2019.

She was born June 10, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Ernest and Carol Blackmer.

Mrs. Emerick was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, watching TV, fishing, gardening and cooking. She was a member of the Saugeen Nation Tribe.

She is survived by two children, Michelle Emerick and Jerry Emerick Jr.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; eight siblings, Harry (Sylvia) McKinney, Carolyn Rayl, Beth Jozwiak, Sue Blackmer, Ernest Blackmer Jr., Edward Blackmer, Melody Blackmer and Kate Blackmer Pitcher; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Dottie. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Chris and Angela Emerick; and two brothers, Mike and Jonathon Blackmer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
