Frances H DeMay

September 11th, 1946 to September 19th, 2019
Frances Helen DeMay, 73, of Marysville, died Thursday, September 19, 2019. She was born September 11, 1946 in Marion, North Carolina to the late John and Fola Saylor. Frann is currently enjoying Heaven, and she was positive her dogs who had passed were going to be there with her. As proof of this she quoted Bible verses about Heaven being perfect and said, “The Bible says Heaven has everything I need to be happy; I need my dogs, so end of discussion.” Frann was the embodiment of Christ’s words to love your neighbor as yourself. She selflessly cared for those less fortunate and was often the voice of those who had no voice. She loved reading and researching and filled journals with information. She loved bird watching and nature. She always rooted for the underdog which is entirely evidenced by her obese, handicapped, three-legged cat whom she loved fiercely. Most of all, she adored her grandchildren. Frann loved ferociously. Frances is survived by her husband, Thomas DeMay; a daughter, Shawna (John McCarty) DeMay; a son, Thomas (Therese Neumann) DeMay Jr.; three grandchildren, Blaine and Brynn Bishop and Maren DeMay; two brothers, John Saylor and Joseph (Julie) Saylor; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in the Marysville Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. In honor of Frann, follow Christ’s command to love. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, or simply do something for someone less fortunate as she did: Leave your hotel housekeeper a large tip and sign the card from Jesus. Adopt a shelter animal or donate to their care. Adopt a needy family at Christmas. Buy a single mother groceries, or treat a lonely neighbor to dinner.
