Arthur H McDonald
Arthur Hazen McDonald, 88, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, December 1, 2019.
He was born January 1, 1931 in Marysville to the late Carlyle and Martha McDonald. He married Delores Mahosky on August 22, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 21, 1996.
Art was a supervisor at Mueller Brass. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with his brothers and sons. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Willow Ridge Golf Club. There he achieved a hole-in-one, and another at Marysville Golf Course. He was a member of V.F.W.
Charles Schoor Post #796 and Charles A. Hammond American Legion Post #8. Art was happiest when he was using his hands. He built numerous birdhouses, benches, and other crafty items for family and friends. He was artistic and musical and loved playing piano and listening to music.
He is survived by his devoted soul mate and best friend, Ruth McDonald; three daughters, Susan Somerville, Jennifer (Joe) Machado, and Diane (Jim) Irwin; two sons, Perry (Trudy) McDonald, and Daniel (Judy) Fitzpatrick; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl McDonald; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Dean (Glenna) McDonald; two sisters, Sandy Marler and Nancy Howely; and two sisters-in-law, Judy and Christine McDonald. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark McDonald; six brothers, Ed, Leonard, Ken, Ray, Larry, and Danny McDonald; and two sisters, Betty McDonald-Hegler and Yvonne McDonald.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
