Lawrence E Taylor

Lawrence Eldon Taylor Sr., 87, of Emmett Township, died Sunday, December 15, 2019 surrounded by his family.

He was born June 3, 1932 in Burton, Ohio to the late William J. and Elizabeth K. Taylor. He married Bonnie Daft Spencer on August 22, 1981 in Port Huron.

Mr. Taylor was a semi-truck driver for General Motors and Automotive Component Carriers for 55 years before his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. When not driving his truck, Larry loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie; 7 children, Debbie (Jeff) Gieling, Lawrence (Laura) Taylor Jr., Joseph (Marge) Taylor, Tammy (Micky) Hill, Pam (Jim) Krampien, Richard (Sheree) Spencer Jr., and Clara Dawson; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; four siblings, Marty Watson, Peg Anderson, Douglas (Barb) Taylor, and James (Sue) Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

A gathering with military honors conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard will take place at the family home at a later date.
